Lombard Insurance Brokers Ltd (Lombard Insurance,
us, we) is an Independent Intermediary who acts as your agent and
accepts responsibility for the advice given and for arranging insurance
from an extensive range of Domestic and Commercial Insurance products
and services. We have agencies with most Insurers and undertake to comply
with the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) Code of Practice for
the selling of General Insurance.
Our Service; Choice of Products and Services;
Conflict of Interest
We offer you independent advice based solely on the information provided
by you, and as we are not tied to one insurance company, we will normally
survey the whole market in order to find the most suitable product or
service for you. Where there are exceptions to this – eg Uninsured
Loss Recovery – we have already selected the scheme we believe offers
best value. Occasions can arise where we, or one of our other customers,
will have some form of interest in business which we are transacting for
you. If this happens, or we become aware that our interests or those of
one of our other customers conflict with your interests, we will inform
you in writing and obtain your consent before we carry out your instructions.
Completion Of Proposal Forms; Material Disclosure
Your attention is particularly drawn to the importance of the Declaration
on Insurers proposal forms. Any failure to disclose facts material to
the insurance or any inaccuracies in your answers, whether at the time
of application at renewal or during the period of cover, could invalidate
the cover. If you are in any doubt you should advise the insurer.
Please do consult us if you are in doubt on any aspect.
Our Remuneration
We get commission from Insurance companies for arranging General
insurance. In addition to this we may at our discretion make charges to
cover our administrative costs for specialised activities as specified
in the attached Fees Sheet as amended in writing and notified to you from
time to time.
Your Protection
We maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance. Your telephone calls to
our office may be recorded or monitored.
Your Money
We will accept monies paid directly into the separate Lombard Insurance
Bank account which is a Client Trust Account, not forming part of our
assets. Money received from you, shall be held in the Client Trust Account
until payment is made for your premium. Money received for you shall be
forwarded to you by crossed cheque to your latest recorded address, or
held pending your instructions.
Our Record Keeping; The Data Protection Act
In order to provide you with advice, we will need to collect information
about you which we hold as Data Controllers under the Data Protection
Act 1998. We use these details to understand your needs and preferences
so that we can tailor our advice to your particular circumstances. This
will either be in response to your specific requests for advice or, generally,
to keep you informed about services and products, which we feel may be
of interest to you. For this purpose, we may contact you by letter, phone,
e-mail, fax or in person, unless you ask us not to.
Any personal details given to us may need to be retained
for record purposes, even if you do not apply for a plan.
We treat all client records as confidential. All
documents in respect of policies will be forwarded to you by post as soon
as possible after we receive them. Where a number of documents relating
to a series of transactions are involved, the documents will normally
be retained until the series is complete. We keep records of our general
insurance business for two years. Personal information supplied by you
will be used for the purpose of completing any transaction and therefore
be passed to other companies in the Group in order to advise you on other
products and services we recommend.
By providing us with your details, you will be agreeing to our using them
in the way described above.
Business Transactions and Credit Terms
Thames Bridge Insurance Consultants Limited will with your permission
withhold your Certificate of Motor Insurance until such time as the full
premium or other outstanding items have been received.
